Changing language bug?

Post by *djk »

My default language for TC is Polish. When I go to Configuration / Options / Language, change it to German and press "Apply" - the language changes to German - both menu and the current Configuration window. When I change it to another language - the same, everything changes. But when I change it to English - surprise - TC menu changes but... the Configuration window remains in the previous language. You must close the window and open it again.

And just to the right of English it doesn't say WCMD_ENG.LNG, does it?

If you had that file (WCMD_ENG.LNG) in your language folder, the English would behave just like the other languages. You're using the English that's inside the .EXE file.

The WCMD_ENG.LNG is normally not supplied with the setup.

I'm sure there was a link about the English language file in Christian's website but there isn't! Probably Christian had a direct link to the file from what I can remember on the old forum. I have it on a CD but I won't be able to access it for the next 2-3 weeks as I'm away from home. Maybe someone else can post it here or even better Christian himself! ;)

But you have it in your website! It's included within Black Dog's version of menus.

(there is a post on the forum for a LNG file from Christian but it's for the PocketPC TC version) So if you find the file please mail it to me.

Black Dog's expanded menus doesn't have the complet english.LNG , but only a replacement to modify some strings.

OK, to clarify things - the language doesn't immediately change because the dialog has to be closed and reopened for the internal (English) strings to be reread (AFAIK).
Wcmd_eng.lng - I can post it here tomorrow, I am pretty sure I have it. Nobody actually needs it unless he wants to modify some strings / their accel chars.

Total Commander 6.0 will close and re-open the config dialog after you change to English to avoid the confusion. Currently you have to close+reopen the dialog yourself.
