Total Commander 5.51a hotfix for quick search problem

Purpose:

With security update KB824141, Microsoft has unfortunately build a severe error into Windows 2000: The function PostMessage with the parameter WM_CHAR sent to any edit field fills this field with dozens of characters instead of a single character. Therefore the quick search in Total Commander no longer works.

Therefore this hotfix replaces the above mentioned function by another.

Who needs this hotfix:

You only need this hotfix under the following conditions:
1. You use Windows 2000
2. You have applied security update KB824141
3. You are using one of the "quick search with search dialog" options

Symptoms: Instead of a single letter, Quick search shows the same letter a few dozen times.

Installation:

This hotfix must be installed to the same directory as Total Commander 5.51. It replaces the entire program file totalcmd.exe.

Note:

This version does not work with Windows 3.1. It is not needed for the 16-bit version, because the error doesn't appear on Windows 3.1.
