Compare directories color coding

Post by *jdmarch »

It would be helpful if the compare directories command color-coded the results. A good model would be Beyond Compare ( http://www.scootersoftware.com ), which by default colors files which are identical on both sides black, orphans (on one side but not the other) blue, files which are newer on one side red, and files which are older on one side grey (and also lets you toggle on/off whether each such subset of the files is visible - e.g. hide left orphans.)

I realize that there could be conflicts with color-coding by extension. Perhaps the latter could be temporarily disabled?

I would not expect TC to match a specialized utility like BC in the sophistication of its folder comparison functions, but some cross-pollination would be nice!

Isn't Synchronize Dirs function perfect for exactly this?
Using Windows without Total Commander is like driving a car without a steering wheel!

Absolutely right! My bad. I looked at this feature last year, decided that while it looked nice I didn't need it because I had BC, and promptly forgot all about it. Sorry for the wasted bandwidth.

Maybe in the future it will support all archives, not just zip files.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
