@Christian: you can prevent "automatic" registration by creating a ramdomized (code outputted as gif) which needs to be entered during the registration process...

I know, but this would prevent blind people from using the forum too. And yes, I know of several blind people using TC with a screen reader!

Yes - that's true - but you could limit the "gif-code" confirmation to the poll stuff... but in this case blind people could never participate polls

or only by sending you an extra mail...

Then I guess a workaround will be to re-quote Valentino:

and if the poll includes ip check just make a script that goes though hunderts of proxy servers.
