Dealing with mounted partitions in winxp

Post by *ioneng »

Under Winxp, we can mount any patition to a NTFS partition, but CTRL - L doesn't display freespace left on a mounted partition. Neither does CTRL-Q. I don't know whether this is a complex feature to add, but when I used far manager, it does show the freespace.

Another suggestion is when copying/moving files locally or remotely, far displays transfer speed in real time. I hope one day TC can do this too, it's a really cool function to have.

Under win2k free space of folders with mounted partitions is also unavailable. It can be a future request.

Christian said this would be easy to implement, but might not be very precise because of buffering, etc.

Then myabe make it optional (in INI), and make it off by default, and write in manual "... (it may be very unprecise!)".

I'm damn sure we'll never see this feature in Commander. Sad, but truth...[/face]
