multi-rename counter [C] for the 'Replace with' field ?

Post by *bennog »

In the multi-rename tool the counter [C] works in 'Rename mask' 'Extention' but not in the 'Replace With' field.
Is there a possibility to add the counter also to the 'Replace with' field ?

No, [C] works only in the two left boxes.
Rename mask: [N] [C]

But then the value is present for search&replace as part of the new name too:
Search: (.+) (\d+)
Replace With: $1 _$2_

But for what would that be good for?
For my example I had could use also Rename mask: [N] _[C]_

For what do you need that feature?
To replace some part from the original name, use the [#-#part] -button.
[N1-20] [C] [N30-]

This works as log as the positions in the original name are at the same position.
if the search part is at different locations, or is numbered without preceding zero's and you want to add preceding zero's.

I managed it in the end but took some more time as a simple replace.
