hello there,
i have a lot of image files that i need to organise into sets (folders), is there any way to make tc move them into new created folders based on their name?
the filenames are like:
001abc001-056
002abcde001-066
002abcd001-123
can i somehow make tc to arrange them automatically into folders? is there any plugin or command i could use to do such thing? or do i have to do this by hand (f7 and f6 all the files manually)?
and the other thing would be kinda otherwise: if i had a lot of folders with files inside how could i move all the files from several folders into one catalog automatically?

Re: moving files into newly created folders
The 2nd request is easy to to:
Make a search of your folder tree
Feed the result to the Listbox
Select all (Ctrl-A)
Copy to the target location in the other window.

MRT: moving files into newly created folders
Hi mieczyslav and welcome!
You could use the Multi-Rename-Tool for that issue:
Usage:
- select a file
- press CTRL+M
- click the [Help]-button and read:
Files can now also be moved to other directories by specifying directory separators "\" (backslashes) in the name.
Directories which do not exist yet will be created automatically.
[N] old file name, WITHOUT extension
[N1] The first character of the original name
[N2-5] Characters 2 to 5 from the old name
[N2,5] 5 characters starting at character 2
[N2-] All characters starting at character 2
and so on and on...
If you would provide more details which part of the file names to use for the folder name, I am pretty sure someone here can support you.
the filenames are like:
001abc001-056
002abcde001-066
002abcd001-123
