Is TC able to find text string in archives stored in archives stored in archives?

Post by *mgroen »

I have multiple archives of different types (rar, zip), stored in multiple archives.

So, Example:
folder d:\documents contains 2 files:

archive.rar contains files 2001.rar, 2002.zip, 2003.rar
archive2.rar contains 2004.zip, 2005.rar, 2006.zip

2001.rar contains jan.zip, febr.rar, march.rar
2002.zip contains jan.rar, febr.zip, march.zip

all files contain collection of excel, binaries, txt, pdf files.

Now I want to to a search containing text "example123" on d:\documents.

Is TC able to find all files accros all archives which contain the text "example123" ? Up to how many levels of archives are supported?

No, TC doesn't currently unpack nested archives (archives inside archives).

OK, thanks.

Can I create a feature request to support up to - say - 3 levels?
