Assign shortcuts to buttons: missing respective "cm_...quick..." commands

Post by *bogordo »

Hi,

I think this is not possible, is the any Visual way of putting somewhere Ctrl+s and Ctrl+y (Quick search and Clear quick search)??
Since i don't see the respective commands with "cm_..."

Thank you

menu "Configuration > Options... "
- Misc.
- Redefine hotkeys
- Ctrl+S
- [Magnifier]-Button
- filter for 'quick' > select command > Ok
- press green checkmark button > Ok

No, the problem is there are no commands, i only see cm_ShowQuickSearch and cm_QuickSearchConfig, but no "Quick search" and "Clear quick search" ones...

You are right - cm_ShowQuickSearch does the same as Ctrl+Alt+Letter (whuch is standard config for QuickSearch) which is not the same as Ctrl+S. Ctrl+S always start up in list reducing mode, wheras Ctrl+Alt+Letter starts up in the last used of the two modes (list reducing / name-jumping)

There is no cm_command for Ctrl+S

I am not sure what you mean by "Clear quick search" ?

In the quicksearch control you can press ctrl+y to remove its content and reset the search.

Thank you Peter, can you please expand the "last used of the two modes" idea? now i get same behaviour with Ctrl+s and Ctrl+Alt+Letter.

Yes, there is no internal command for that either. Just like there is no internal commands for any other input field, like Ctrl+A/Y/C/X/V/E/K/W/T in the command line.

Ok, so we can't assign to buttons, not big deal :)

Ok Peter, i understand that your "jump mode" refers to when i set up to "letters only", right?

i get same behaviour with Ctrl+s and Ctrl+Alt+Letter
If you press Ctrl+S and start typing, then the file panel shows fewer and fewer files as long as you type matching characters.

If you press Ctrl+Alt+Letter (or whichever combination you have chosen in "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Quick Search"), then the same might happen, but if you then press Ctrl+S (while the Quick search input field is open), then it changes so that the full file list is shown, but the cursor jumps to the next match as you type. You can cycle between the matches with ArrowUp of ArrowDown (while the Quick search input field is open).

The state of either reducing the filelist or jumping between matches is remembered the next time you press Ctrl+Alt+Letter, and not reversed until you press Ctrl+S again (while the Quick search input field is open).

Thank you very much Peter, good to know this "double" option.

You should write a guide/book of "TC power user" with all this good stuff you know!! ;)
