Confirmation dialog hidden behind other TC window

Post by *sevem »

Sometimes it happens to me, that a confirmation dialog is hidden behind another window of TC. Because the hidden dialog is waiting for an input it is not possible to move the window. There is no possibility to activate the dialog...

The only solution I found is killing the process using the task manager. Is there another possibility to solve this case?

What I did exactly: When synchronizing directories a lot of files has to be copied (>10 GB). Therefore I minimize the window to the taskbar and open another TC window, which is maximized. After some time a dialog of the copy process appears (e.g. because the file name is too long); this is notified by a flashing icon in the taskbar. When I press the icon in the taskbar, the dialog is displayed for a short moment but instantly hidden by the synchronization window. From here I see no possibility to get to the dialog to make the confirmation.

Thanks for any help.

Have you tried Alt+Tab?

Yes, it just brings me to the window that hides the dialog.

Unfortunately Windows itself is preventing TC from showing its dialog in front of other windows.

You can get rid of the "name too long" warning:
wincmd.ini
[Configuration]
LongNameCopy=1
