I'll try to describe an unusual problem.
After downloading any plug-in as a zip and double-clicking, a window appears informing about the possibility of installing the plug-in. This is normal and expected behavior.
But suppose I changed my mind.
If I cancel the selection, close the window, close the archive (exit zip) and I would like to restart the installation by double-clicking on the same archive, then the window will no longer appear.
I have to close the TC and open it again to get the installation effect.
Can you avoid the need to reboot TC?

Yes. Open a different archive using Ctrl+PageDown and then double-click (or press ENTER) on the plugin archive again.

Re: Possibility to install the plug without restarting the TC
The problem is only in archive listing caching, TC remembers last archive listing in memory, therefore it doesn't ask you about installation if you re-enter same archive just after previous entering. But you can always install plugin by unpacking it manually, and no TC restart is required.

Additional tip: if in a pinch, just copy the plugin temporarily and use that as "different archive". Works the same way too.
