Prevervation of Roman Numerals on bulk rename?

Post by *Zefrem23 »

Is it feasible to add an option for changing case with the English in Titles option to preserve the capitalisation of the most common Roman numerals?

I suggest to have an UppercasecaseStrings= parameter in wincmd.ini - like the current LowercaseStrings= parameter.

Then abbreviations like US,USA,EU,BMW etc could be addded for being preserved as is along with Roman Numerals like II,III,IV,VI,VII,VIII,IX,XI,XIII,XIV,XV,XVI,XVII, XVIII,XIX,XX,

This is not a good idea; commands should be context free. Coincidental those letters can be in file names. And a tool cannot determine whether these letters are Roman numerals or not. In the existing rename tool you should define your changes.

You can still do that - this request is about improving the already exiting function under "Upper/lowercase" -" "First Of Each Word Uppercase (English in Titles)". This function already uses the wincmd.ini parameter LowercaseStrings= - where you can add words that you want to be kept in lowercase:

Help wrote: LowercaseStrings=English in Titles:a,an,the,at,by,for,in,of,on,to,from,up,and,as,but,or,nor,yet,so,vs
For the multi-rename tool function "First of each word uppercase (English in Titles)", words not to convert to uppercase
