IconLib / filelist icons question

Post by *Stiltzkin »

is there an up-to-date list to find out which icons are currently used?
are there any which aren't used at all anymore?

the wiki https://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php/Filelist_icons seems a little dated.

things i figured out:

indexused as
14plugin property header/separator
39plugin property: attr
40plugin property: string
41plugin property: date
42plugin property: time
43plugin property: boolean
44plugin property: ??
45plugin property: ??
47shared folder overlay for hidden/system folders
49! overlay for hidden/system folders
53overlay icon for symlink folders

and something else:
folder symlinks get the overlay icon from icon/index 53.
file symlinks get the system default overlay. bug? oversight? option i've missed?

BUMP as I am trying to update https://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php?title=Filelist_icons#Customize_filelist_icons

things i figured out:
index *used as
31svf/crc/sha1-files ***
43plugin property: integer
47 & 48shared files overlay icon
49 & 50hidden files overlay icon **
54 & 55one drive overlay icon
57 & 58dropbox overlay icon

* contrary to Stiltzkin I start the index at 0
** source: viewtopic.php?p=316339#p316339
*** why only in 32x32 but not in 16x16 like the others?

43 is plugin property: multiple choice. 38 would be integer (a number symbol)
54+55 is indeed for OneDrive, for files which are not avialable locally, only online (in the cloud).
57+58 is also for OneDrive, for files which are set to be permanently available offline.

Thanks with that only the following questions remain unanswered:

Are 2 and 19 still unused?

What is the difference between 12 and 52/53?

What is 28 ? (30 is same as 28 encrypted with main password)

What is 44 (search plugin property:?) ?

What are 32, 33 and 45 (= used in directory history?) ?

Where does one find 36/37 pause & play icons in TC?

No, they were used for batch files, .bat, but since cmd.exe isn't a DOS shell any more, I'm using 3 and 20 instead.
What is the difference between 12 and 52/53?
12 is a full sized link icon, used when no icon can be loaded for a .lnk file, e.g. in archives.
52/53 are used as small overlay icons.
What is 28 ?
27..30 are used in the list of FTP connections Ctrl+F:
27 and 29 are used for FTP connections, 28 and 30 for FTPS connections.
29 and 30 are used when the connection has stored a password protected with the master password.
What is 44
44 TXT is used for full text search fields.
What are 32, 33 and 45
32 is "Synchronize dirs"
33 is shown for the entry "ftp" on the desktop (Commands - Open desktop)
45 and 46 is used as an overlay in the tree and directory history to mark the currently open folder.
Where does one find 36/37 pause & play icons in TC?
Windows 7 and newer show a preview when hovering over the taskbar icon. This preview shows a play/pause button during file operations, so you can pause and continue an operation from there.

Currently the overlay icon 49 is used on all Hidden/System folders both for internal folder icons and for external icons.

But the overlay icons 47/48 are only used on external Shared folder icons not for internal Shared folder icons, here icon 5/16 is used.

Would it be possible to change that so the Share overlay icon is implemented the same way as the Hidden/System overlay icon? - that would make it possible to change the shared folders simply by changing icon 1/13

Are the icons with !-mark (9, 11, 15) used anymore?

For example icon 1 is used for folder icons bigger than 16x16 while icon 13 is used for 16x16 folder icons, but icon 1 also contains 16x16 icons, why not only use icon 1?

The same question goes for icon pairs: 3/20, 4/14, 5/16, 6/17 and 21/22 ?

Thanks for the infos!
ghisler(Author) wrote: 2023-06-04, 09:21 UTC 32 is "Synchronize dirs"
I thought so, but when using your own icl 0 is used instead of 32?

Which also begs the question where 25 is used (small version of 0)?

Can we get at least a confirmation that it is 100% intended behaviour that TC loads icons 23, 24, 26, 32 and 56 not from an user specified icl?
