Upload files to the cloud.mail.ru >> "remove the write protection"

Post by *teceuser »

I'm trying to upload files to a remote drive (the cloud.mail.ru). This remote drive runs in Windows 10 by this app.
When I copy I get this error: screenshot
When I start TC (v9.51) with admin rights - there is no remote drive in the list: screenshot.
Should I report this bug to a 3rd-party app developer?
Thank you

When you start TC with admin rights you don't have access to user mapped drives.
Thats not an error in TC and not in the 3rd party app.
Its by design of Windows.

Do you get this even for simple English file names like test.txt? It's possible that the remote drive doesn't support Unicode, so the heart and broccoli(?) images can't be used in file names. It may or may not work with Cyrillic either.

I would recommend you try Airlive Drive. It has the similar function and it works with TC last time I checked. The catch is that I am not entirely sure whether mail.ru is supported by him directly.

I am very sorry to double post, but if you don't mind a little slower operation, then you can use Web Dav connection with TC plugin.

Confirmation that it is not TC error, screenshot. (tried to copy through the regular Windows Explorer)
It's just that the TS notification is a little confusing. You might think that the obstruction is in the TC (lack of admin rights or something else).
It's actually because of long filename.. file with short name but containing broccoli and heart 🦚❤️ - was successfully copied without difficulty by TC to remote drive
Is it possible to change the notification so that TC displays the true cause of the error?
Thank you🙏🏻

It's actually because of long filename..
is it possible using TC to automatically shorten too long file names? At the moment I am manually shortening files names to copy them in cloud using TC.
