Convenient and fast input of frequently used Unicode characters in TC 10.0

Post by *misvin »

I didn't find how to customize the context menu Insert Unicode control character on Windows 10 21H1.

How to provide convenient and fast input of 40-50 frequently used Unicode characters in Total Commander 10.0 by selecting them from a custom list (instead of using the Alt+hexadecimal code)?

Thanks

Do you know a solution that doesn't require the installation of a third-party tool (like AutoHotkey)?

Be aware that some AHK-Scripts with different versions of Windows do not work properly or possibly do not work at all.
How does it work?
In order to make use of the following scripts you have to:
1. Install AutoHotkey;
2. Save the script as WhateverYouLike.ahk (alternatively add it to the AHK autostart file AutoHotkey.ini);
3. Run it.

or

you compile the script with Ahk2Exe.exe (available in the zip-file at the AHK Download page). Thus you get a standalone exe-file you can run on each PC without Autohotkey installed. Disadvantage: You can't modify this compiled exe anymore.

Completely unrelated to the question whether AHK needs to be installed or not.

Irrelevant. It's just one option. Another is unpack and run without installation. Just works.
The same as with TC - you can install, but you can just unpack files from installer.

Look here - https://www.autohotkey.com/download/

To Gral:

Did you ever consider, that the 'tone' of an answer could discourage or 'encourage' a newcomer in this forum from using it in the future?
Personally, I am a BIG fan of a helping hand with a smile :)
I am puzzled, why some people, with a great knowledge of Total Commander, can be somehow 'snippy' at times.

Maybe we have to be a bit more 'nice' to the 'new blood' in this forum. ..But not the Onslow way :twisted:

Btw luv u all madly. :mrgreen:
