Listing Host's Drives in TC in XP guest of Win10 with VitualBox

Post by *totalatha »

In XP-Mode in for Windows 7, I can see the drives of the host listed in Total Commander like
\\tsclient\B, \tsclient\C, etc. I cannot see these drives listed in the Virtual Box with XP guest
and Windows 10 host. Is there something more that I need to do?
Thank you!!!

XP only supports SMB1, Win10 supports only SMB2 by default (and Win7 supports both). To make shares of a Win10 system available to systems that only support SMB1, the Win10 system needs to have SMB1 server support installed. Be aware that SMB1 is considered an insecure protocol! Hence it's not enabled by default on Win10 and almost everyone is moving away from it. There are many guides on the internet on how to enable it, though.
