easy transfer cable USB-C (for USB cable connection)

Post by *jazz »

Has anyone tried an USB-C transfer cable yet? Or a USB-A transfer cable with a converter to USB-C?
https://www.ghisler.com/cables/ only gives USB-A cables

examples:
https://www.cablematters.com/pc-1308-135-usb-a-30-to-usb-c-data-transfer-cable.aspx
https://www.cdw.com/product/startech.com-usb-c-to-usb-data-transfer-cable-for-mac-and-windows-usb-3.0/5030705

These cables seem hard to find in EU/Netherlands anyway, but USB-A is getting old..

No I haven't. They both have USB A on one side and need an adapter, so they couldn't use the higher speed of USB type C anyway. Therefore there is no advantage to using an USB A cable with two adapters instead.

You can use the usb c to c cable that came with your samsung to transfer. Or buy a usb c otg adapter to convert type a to type c cable

Edit by moderator: that information is wrong, see post below by Mr. Ghisler.

Not between two PCs! These are just cables to attach a peripheral (e.g. your smartphone) to your PC (master).
For transfers between two masters (two PCs), you need a cable with a little device in the middle which acts as a peripheral to both sides: PC ----- peripheral ----- PC
If you connect two PCs directly via USB-C, the port can be destroyed!
