TC95b12: Floating Digits Field With Cursor, Dark Mode 64
Not regularly reproducible, but I found that a small floating field of digits was accompanying my black, large, system cursor on a newly-selected lister panel of TC 9.5beta12 - in Dark Mode.
It was sufficiently persistent that I could capture it with the deprecated Win10 app Snip.
See:
https://ibb.co/GQwrNg9
https://ibb.co/X5PSTPC
The cursor wasn't captured by Snip, but it was adjacent and the numbers, changing with cursor movement, moved with the cursor.
A minor matter, but curious.

Re: TC95b12: Floating Digits Field With Cursor, Dark Mode 64
It looks like a damaged tooltip.
I reported 2 cases about damaged tooltips, see: https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=52239 and https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=52240
Before this tooltip with number appeared:
* did you have any errors in TC?
* did you launch video player (what player if yes) from Total Commander (by clicking on file or from TC button bar),
or maybe you had such player launched and switched between its and Total Commander's window?
* did you switch between TC and web browser windows (what browser if yes)?
* do you have any wdx plugins configured to show their info in tooltips, so such plugin could show there that digits?

Re: TC95b12: Floating Digits Field With Cursor, Dark Mode 64
In reply to your questions, DrShark:
No noticeable errors in TC at the time
I could well have activated video players in the way you describe, likely VLC and SMPlayer
I could well have switched between TC and a browser - Firefox - 72.0.1
No tooltip plug-ins; just mmedia, exif, iso, makebat, Audioinfo.
I shall report if the error recurs.
[PS may be or may not be is excessive; 'may' will do: it includes 'may not' ]

It doesn't look like a tooltip for a file, which is either for very long names only, or then multi-line when using Win32-style tips.
Maybe it's a drive label or a tip for a button bar button?

Just to make it clear: so in your wincmd.ini the section [HintsCustomField] doesn't exist or empty? If not, please post content of that section here.
Buggy tooltip for a file from my bugreport (already mentioned https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=52240) had indeed one line which had wdx plugin value.ghisler(Author) wrote: ↑2020-01-13, 11:03 UTC It doesn't look like a tooltip for a file, which is either for very long names only, or then multi-line when using Win32-style tips ...
[Offtop]BTW, today I encountered Chrome tooltip bug, which makes its tooltip (in my particular case it's "No unread posts" tooltip from ghisler.ch forum) to appear over desktop and all apps, including Total Commander, even apps with on top of all windows state. It happens if to make Chrome window to be placed in restored state in lower half part of screen, and then to minimize it using a click on its task button on taskbar. This tooltip is static, and doesn't seem to make any harm except covering windows of other applications. If to minimize Chrome using browser's window minimize button, that tooltip doesn't appear.[/offtop]

Re - a drive label or a button bar tip: no sign of its being either.ghisler(Author) wrote: ↑2020-01-13, 11:03 UTC It doesn't look like a tooltip for a file, which is either for very long names only, or then multi-line when using Win32-style tips.

Disks here have word names; no numbers used, so not that.
No button tip springs to mind, however, it was when the mouse cursor was running over files in the list panel.
Activity stream: clicked on left list panel, clicked on right list panel, numbers tips appeared beside mouse cursor.
DrShark: the word hints in wincmd.ini can't be found. I have no memory, either, of creating such a section. No luck.
Nothing has appeared since the initial screen grabs. Now using TC950RC1.
Shall report any recurrence.

Re: TC95b12: Floating Digits Field With Cursor, Dark Mode 64
I will move this to "Will not be changed" for now, I don't think it's part of TC. I did have such tips from another program in the past, I think it was Firefox...

Re: TC95b12: Floating Digits Field With Cursor, Dark Mode 64
The tip on screenshots in start post is from Windows 10 and it is dark. Does Windows 10 support dark tooltips natively, and if yes are they used by 3rd party apps (by default or using special Win10 API)? If not, this tip probably comes from TC.ghisler(Author) wrote: ↑2020-01-28, 07:50 UTC... I did have such tips from another program in the past, I think it was Firefox...

The Windows 10 Explorer shows dark tooltips, at least here on Windows 10 1909.
