TotalCommande CE on PNA

Post by *burkm »

Hi everybody,

would like to use the TotalCommander edition for Pocket PC/CE on my new PNA (Medion PNA470), which uses a subset of WinCE 5.0 (ARM).

Unfortunately when I try to start it, I get a message "... not a valid CE program...".

Probably some DLLs are missing.
Don't know...

May be, someone can help me.

What are the prerequisits to run it, which DLLs are being used ?
Is .NET or the Embedded VB Runtime needed ?

Any help appreciated.

Thanx - burkm

The PocketPC version uses
commctrl.dll
coredll.dll
aygshell.dll
winsock.dll

No .Net and no vb runtime, it's a plain C program.

Hi, burkm.

Just a wild guess:

You downloaded the Windows installer of PocketTC and tried to run this installer on your PDA directly?

No go. Cf here, please, in order to learn how to install PocketTc from your desktop PC to your PDA.

Alternatively you download the cab-file instead, transfer it to your PDA and install it on your PDA directly.

Hi,

I've just acquired a Medion PNA 465 and have got the same problem that burkm describes.

The error message says:
"cecmd" is not a valid Windows CE application

It seems the software was not built for this Operating System/Processor :?:

System Info:
MS WindowsCE Version 5.0 (Build 1400)
Processor:
Samsung ARM920T - S3C2440A

All the dlls mentioned by C.Ghisler are in the windows directory.

I have tried the pocket and the WinCE Version. They both install on the PNA, from the PC as well as from the CAB File.
The Icon is on the desktop, but the program just won't run.

Any other Ideas ??

tnx Anke

Apparently the PNA is missing some functions needed by Total Commander Pocket, sorry.

My PNA Route 66 Chicago has the same hardware as Medion PNA 465.
Please see the topic "tcmdWince Und WinCe Core 5.0" .

Here is the link for those who do not understand German:

https://plugins.ghisler.com/cebeta3/ce2/cecmd.arm.zip

This is just the bare program, I will put together a CAB installer later when beta 3 comes out.

Le liens vers la version beta 3 de totalcommander CE n'est plus valable.

Merci de le remettre.
