WeatherCities.XML file too large to edit

Post by *CaptnTony »

First, thanks for the product. I downloaded it specifically to edit the Weathercities.xml file on my HTC Touch. The file is stored on the ROM in the Windows folder.

I've had two issues. First I can't seem to set the Read Only to either - or blank successfully. It doesn't give any error messages, but when I go back to look at the file properties again, it's still Read Only.

The second issue I had was trying to load the file. I get an error stating that the file is too large as the max is 64k.

Any work arounds that anyone knows of? Thanks in advance.

What did you use to load it?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I loaded Total Commander /CE 2.51 (using the EXE)
I loaded it to the ROM, not the card

1. Open TC
2. Navigate to \Windows folder
3. Select HH_ file (single click)
4. Choose File.EDIT

error msg pops up:

Error, file too big!
Max 64k are supported.

Looks like a known limitation:

Thanks.

I guess I'll have to find a way to modify the file and get it back onto the ROM somehow.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
