strange behavior with new version 2.5 and 2.51

Post by *bibi_50 »

Hello.

I used to run TCpocket 2.00 on a PNA (MIO 510E 'unlocked' 320X240 pixels) under WinCE4.2 (kernel) without problem.
But the internal Editor has some problems with Unicode text files used in my navigation software.

So I tried the 2.5 some month ago, and now the 2.51.
( installed correctly from CAB file )

The TC (2.51) window menu appears at the bottom of the screen, I cannot see anything else, when I click on menu, the scrolling is from Bottom to the TOP !
I have tried a new choice in the menu: Adjust/Sort Tabs, but the windows appeared almost 50% outside of the viewing screen, I only see the Cancel button with some digits then I cannot change any value here ....

I am unable to use it correctly, I returned to the 2.00 version for the moment.

Question is: IS this strange behavior caused by some values in registry and/or in one INI file, can you please, tell me what I can do for having a correct display ?

Kind Regards.

Apparently you have installed the WRONG version: You need the PocketPC version, but you have installed the WinCE version (this is only for devices where the PocketPC libraries are missing).

Hi Ghisler, not sure about your suggestion:

I installed from CAB file here :
https://plugins.ghisler.com/ce/tcmdpocketarm.cab

the processor is a Samsung 2440 – 400Mhz (ARM)

But in the mean time I tried to SAVE AS UNICODE with the Tcmd-editor and now my txt files are OK.

SO , for the moment, I stay with the 2.0 version

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, that's the correct one. But when you have the Windows menu at the bottom, it means that you had installed the Windows CE version, where indeed the Windows menu is at the bottom instead of being at the top.
