@majki:
The problem only exists with 1.4.7 final of Universal Viewer. With the version you have packed, 1.4.0, it does not!

@tosbsas:
You have to press Ctrl-Q to close it!

I can resize active(target) panel to the half of its height and dock Viewer bellow it.

Do you want this ?
Yes.
This should be an option:

Dock Viewer to:
( ) Other panel ( ) Half of active panel
( ) Right of the TC ( ) Below TC

Of course. QV->left panel->right panel. Just to be it without unneeded loss of functionality.

BTW, three variants arise: open QV always to the left of TC, open QV always to the right of TC, open QV "after" the inactive panel (is it "Dock to other panel" in your terms? Guess is.). The latter is what I meant here.

I don't know why do you need docking on left/right side of TC ? TC always cover 80% of the screen here, and everywhere I have been. This will make sence if TC is using about 50% of the screen, and how many people are using this setup ? I think that docking inside active/target panel should be enough.

At my place TC is in fullscreen. You need to adjust the size of its window & open a docked window. After closing of QV you 'll need to restore original TC size.
This feature is mainly for monitors, which can freely display three TC panels.

Did I make it clearer for you?

Absolutely right. Docking schemes are daft simply because there's not enough screen real-estate unless you're running a 24 inch wide-screen monitor. Directory Opus uses a sort-of docking style and you can check out how annoying it is there. It's overkill, IMHO.

I can't even think of a really pressing reason to dock a half-height viewer on a re-sized panel, to be honest.

You both forgot to look into the future :lol: Though you both used to do this a lot in some offtopic past. :D
Widescreen monitors are the future. So it's needed to support them.

Anyway imho the feature is worth implementing.

2 all about docking
I will implement dock bellow the panel. This looks very cool. I will try to design a docking scheme so I can easily change dock position by your desire. If this is hard to do, you will have to live without this.

2 Alex
I added a little tooltip to QV debug version that will display File Name sent do Viewer and ErrorLevel witch is return value of SendMessage or FAIL if there was an error while sending the message. Use it in dialogs and tell me is it something wrong with the file names ? This is the only place where bug can exist. After that, the process continues in your application....

I also noticed that some plugins change the size and move the window in new version with title. For instance FileInfo plugin when run in dialogs move Viewer position ?!

2tosbsas
So, you have 2 instances of Viewer, right ? One empty and one doing the job ?

That is insane... and inposible. I don't close Viewer by application name or class but by unique process identifier. So I can close only one.... It is like you have 2 scripts running...
