Hello everyone,

I updated the program and added a little documentation to help non-experts set it up. :)

--- version 2:
[*] if no ignore list was previously defined in the ini file of total commander
a new one is made in the same directory the ini file is in, and not in the
directory total commander is installed in.
[+] allow only 1 instance of the program to be active.
[+] escape to exit program, restoring the original ignore list
[*] corrected the following error: the program turns ON the ignore list, but
never turns it OFF (solution save status in ini file)

It's still in the same place: http://www.geocities.com/jacokwak/TCQSP.html

Thanks again for this little tool. The update works fine here so far.

p.s.: I already did what you describe in the documentation witht the initial version :-D
This is really the way to use it. Create a user command and assign a hotkey.

@Ghisler
Are you convinced that this would be a great addtion?

I think hotkeys and usercommands are really the 'killer app' in this version of TC, but they are a bit underexposed.
I had been using the beta for months before I found out about this little trick. A whole chapter about this in the help would not be out of place.

(as a disappointed Stitcher pointed out, Ghisler does not always seem to read these threads)

Why do you upload files with 'txt' extension? Geocities allows to use zip-files.
Is it your ISP restriction?

2MPEHOPE3KA,

I thought it didn't !

(I could have sworn it said something about only allowing certain files, weird)

Anyway, thanks for pointing that out to me, i'll correct it now :)

This seems doesnt work for me. Run the program, esc to exit, and my orginal ignore list is gone.

Is it possible after using this program do some works, then there's a way to get back my orginal ignore list?

I am sorry to hear that :-( Raymond, I haven't heard of that problem before.
Are you sure that the list is not simply switched off?
You can switch it on and off with cm_SwitchIgnoreList or
with the menu: confuguration->options->ignore list (checkbox on top of the dialog box)

If this doesn't help, could you give me the setting in your wincmd.ini so I can try to recreate the problem?
the entry should be something like:
IgnoreListFile=tcignore.txt

To jaco

Yes, there's the entry "IgnoreListFile=tcignore.txt" in wincmd.ini, and I usually use cm_SwitchIgnoreList to switch it on and off.

My orginal ignore list is as simple as only one line:
-*.*
I tried keeping an eye on tcignore.txt file. When I run the program, tcignore.txt changes to
-*.*c:\===--- TCQSP begin ===---
c:\===--- TCQSP debug [D:\Totalcmd\]
c:\===--- TCQSP debug ''
c:\===--- TCQSP debug 'D:\Totalcmd\wincmd.ini'
c:\===--- TCQSP end ===---
After I press ESC key, tcignore.txt changes to a 0 byte empty file. So you see, my orginal line is gone.

2Raymond:

Thanks for the quick response. The fault in my programming is, that I assumed the ignore list ends with a newline (I should know better really)
The lines containing TCQSP begin up to TCQSP end are removed when you press escape, and because your own line -*.* is on the same line, this too is removed!

So, the workaround is this: You press enter after entering -*.* in the ignore list, then it should work as advertised.

I will update the tool tomorow, to prevent other people losing lines in their ignore list.

Thanks for pointing this out to me.
(I'm glad you didn't lose a long list, you had me scared for a moment)

I backup TC setting files regularly.
If I have to tune up a brand new installation of TC from scratch, I'm gonna cry. :D

Thank you for this neat program. :)
