This function works pretty well, thanks.

And, congratulations, now the 7Zip Plugin is No.1 download rank both in "This week leaders" and "All time popularity".
xmeron wrote:One more problem:
At the first extraction, TC will popup a packer configuration dialog, and then the extraction get started but without the progress bar, so the first extraction is a BLIND extraction, we can not know when the extraction will over.
dllee wrote:the dialogbox with progress bar is managed by TC, you may post this issue to TC7.56(a) bug reports (English)
Tested it again, the result is below:

1. For other formats, e.g. rar/zip, this FIRST BLIND EXTRACTION problem will NOT happen.
2. For other 7z archive, this problem will NOT happen.
3. This problem only exist during the first extraction in this series archive: theworld_chrome_4.0.X.XXX.exe, just like previous problem.
4. And more, Total7zip plugin has the same problem in this first extraction.

Thanks to all the translators of the 7zip plugin,
now 7zip plugin (version 0.7.6.5) provides the following translation:

Chinese BIG5, Czech, Danish, English (built-in), German, Lithuanian, Russian, Ukrainian.

Remember to rename the translation file to 7zip.lng and put it to the same directory of the 7zip.wcx, and then config 7zip plugin, you will see the translation result.

I just update all those translations to 7zip plugin @ totalcmd.net
http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/7zip_plugin.html

2xmeron
about FIRST BLIND EXTRACTION problem...
for TC build-in un-packer (zip/rar) and wcx plugin, TC uses different mechanism, so their performance will be different.

As I replied to totya, most of the jobs are done by TC itself, not by the plugin...

I will keep an eye on the new version of TC and the new version of the plugin interface to see if there are something that I can do to improve 7zip.

I'm using commander v6.56 with some old 7zip plugin 2007-2008. After updating with 7zip_0.7.6.5 plugin, all 7z-archives seem blank. I mean no files inside the archives when you enter them in commander.

What OS are U running?
part of the the change log:

7zip builds 0.7.5.0: 2010-12-16
- Build based on 7Zip 9.20 code
- Unicode only version

That means that for Win95/98(SE)/Me 7zip plugin 0.7.5.0+ doesn't and will not work, so if U are using these OSes downgrade or use total7zip (you'll need to get the ansi builds of 7zg.exe and 7z.dll get them from 7-zip.org or ask about them on the 7-zip forum http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/forums/forum/45798 .

TC 6.56 does not support Unicode.
Maybe it's a good idea to update to TC 7.56?

I forgot TC 6.5 is an ansi only application, but the 7zip plugin is unicode only (XP is a unicode OS) so you should update TC, I'm not sure total7zip would work in older tc versions as it has combined unicode/ansi functions built in.

What are these x buttons ?
The top one is are used to restore the default icon when making sfx 7zip archives (exe files) (by clicking on the icon you can change it)
The bottom ones clear the selections about the file attributes stored within the 7z archive (by clearing them you might reduce the archive size a few bytes but you'll lose information about when wore the files created/modified/accessed (left one) and the bottom right clears the archive/read only/system/hidden attributes (some of this info is useful other might not be)

Very nice plugin thanks!
Would be nice to be able to change default CPU priority, and CPU priority while its running.
Also would be great to get estimated time remaining and compression ratio, memory usage etc.

extract files compress with lzma.exe

Post by *t0ma »

I have problems to extract .7z files that are compresses with lzma.exe (not 7za.exe) with this plugin.
Am I doing something wrong, or this is working as designed, and only 7za.exe`s outputs are understand.

t0ma, lzma.exe can't create 7-Zip archives, it may only create LZMA archives which have specific format and have no 7-Zip archive header.
You may use Total7zip or Multiarc with external 7-Zip if you want to browse such archives.

Ahh, okay.
I was confused as I thought lzma and 7z are cross compatible. Thanks for the enlightenment :D

Btw, is there any lzma plugins out there?

Edit: just saw the 2nd part of your reply. Will take a look on Total7zip
