Oh, those typos... it should be written libtag.dll of course, thanks.

Basically you should place both dlls in totalcmd.exe folder, but if your windows already has msvcrt.dll you could skip it.

------------------------------
New version is here:

WDXTagLib 1.0.1
+ New field Tag Type. It shows all tags types file has (ID3v1, APE etc).
+ Speed improvement on tag saving.
+ Double licensing scheme used now GPL and LGPL.
+ Detect string used.

Editing the meta-data, change only one attribute (eg album), but all other attributes become null value.

Wow thats a nasty bug.
Sorry but I cannot reproduce it on windows xp, totalcmd v8.01, plugin version 1.1.1 on mp3 file.
I am editing and checking results with plugin.

If you like you could report error via plugin page with steps needed to reproduce your problem. Also it could be helpful if you attach samples of file you are editing before and after edit.

Thanks.

plug-in not functional after install...

Post by *keschnitzler »

Hi,
I've installed that plug-in via double-clich on zip. it installs into plug-ins dir under wdx. in config panel I've set the plug undere conf wdx plugs on the first position. when marking a mp3 file an go to change attrib, there is no wdxtablib in the list of more attrib...
so what has gone wrong?? I'm using tc v8.01 32bit under Win7.
maybe you can help??!

yes I had the same problem, spent a lot of time trying to solve it, since the ability to modify the tag fields was the reason why I installed this plugin. version 1.1.1 doesn't show in the plugin list (i mean the set attrib dialog; for find and multirename dialogs it works OK) neither under xp nor win7 in TC 8.01 or 7.04a, respectively. interestingly, not even other similar plugins work (anytag, decID3WDX) for set attrib dialog. even more interestingly, version 1.1.0 of wdxtaglib works! from the changelog, it seems there was only Unicode support added - I wonder if this could mess up with the ability of TC to recognize the plugin in the set attrib dialog?
I also wonder if this is a rare case, but since it holds true on two independent machines and OS's, I don't think so..
I also tried to load .wdx file into dependencyWalker to see if I'm missing any dll's, but beside ieshims.dll and wer.dll - which I believe are not of concern here - i couldn't see anything important.
I am no way a programmer or anything, but since I spent a lot of time playing with this, it would be nice to know what the culprit is...
I will stick to the 1.1.0 for now, Unicode support is not an issue for me..
Thanks for the plugin anyway and keep up the good work!
Always check your pockets first.

Hi, was it working with v 1.1.1?
Basically test release you mention and v1.1.2 are the same binaries.
Are you able to add wdxtaglib to Custom Columns?

It once worked on one of my many computers, but i cant remember which with which version sorry.

But on the most with the current version it doesn't appear in Change-Attributes.

On the one that i am currently working on i can succesfully use it to create custom columns. Artist/Title are read out properly...

WT*... i just reinstalled version 1.1.1... and somehow it made its way into Change Attributes now....

I rechecked this on a different computer with a TC where i never used WDXTaglib. I did the following

1. Install WDXTaglib
=> did not appear in ChangeAttributes
2. Restart
=> did not appear in ChangeAttributes
3. Define Custom Columns
=> did not appear in Change Attributes
4. Restarted
=> did not appear in Change Attributes
5. Moved WDXTaglib to the most top position in WDX Plugin Settings and restarted
=> finally appeared in Change attributes

I dont know why this strange behaviour occurs and i'm not sure if i am not doing something stupidly wrong.

On a third computer (with tc8.01) i just tried it again and i could not get it to work with the operations above at all...

There is something strange. It does not seem to work out of the box.

I will try the same on my 2 computers at home later - if i find out something new i will let you know.

1. Computer:
it somehow worked after using custom columns

2. Laptop:
it did not work until i moved wdxtaglib under jpgcomment wdx plugin

When i move it above jpgcomment plugin, it disappears.

When i move it below jpgcomment, surprise, it was also again not appearing until i moved it to third position and restarted...

TC Bug?

at least all my 4TC instances now have wdxtaglib in change attribute dialog :)
