SystemInfo 2.7

Post by *Nigurrath »

Just to celebrate forum reopening here's the announcement of a new version of SystemInfo plugin.

I added several other system informations were missing before (hard disks physical informations, serial ports and the list of installed programs). Moreover now there's no need of the external TNTSI.DLL (now I'm making everything on my own :-D) and the wlx is ready for TC551.

2.7 Feb 2003
- jump to version 2.7 because there are so many new functions that I feel a 2.7 is better than a 2.6 ^__^
+ now the wlx interface is compliant with TC 5.51
- eliminated the need for TNTSI.DLL, now you can delete this file!
+ added Physical Geometry of Hard Disks (Sectors, Head, Cylinders, bios name and brand), requires on Win9x/ME an additional file .vxd, used to catch these informations.
+ added serial ports enumeration
+ added installed programs enumeration (from registry)
+ DigTheSystem alligned with this release to version 1.5

Please note that on Windows9x/ME systems to make the wlx working you need a vxd file to be placed beside the wlx itself (same directory). It's used on these systems to get hard disk physical informations. On Windows NT/2000/XP you can simply ignore it.

You can find the .zip at the following URL

http://web.cefriel.it/~frumento/uploads/Programs/wlx_SystemInfo.zip

at the moment this is the list of the informations this wlx extension is able to read
http://web.cefriel.it/~frumento/uploads/Programs/systeminfo_ObtainedInformations.txt

or even directly at my programs page

hi

i wanted to try your plugin, but wenn i insert the line with your plugin in the wincmd.ini and i press "f3" then i get this error:
loader error

the procedure entry point setupdigetdeviceinterfacedetaila could not be located in the dynamic link library setupapi.dll
when i remove the line witch your plugin the "f3" button works again.

what could be the reason? am i missing this setupapi.dll? if yes where can i get it? or do you know what can i do?

thx

chriss

p.s.: my computer works under nt4
