Hi kotlomoy, I came across a weird issue. From the extended view I selected a file two levels deep and pressed F5. The copy dialog showed the destionation file as c:\some\path\here/level1/level2/a-file.ext, after pressing OK the copied file came out as c:\some\path\here/level1_level2_a-file.ext.
So you can see that the landed in a different place with a different name.
This is on Win XP SP3 TC 8.01 BranchViewEx 1.0.3.
Thanks for this useful plugin!

I got a warning from my antivirus program that the latest version of the 32 bit plugin was eligible for Malware.
I checked and the result is this 7/68 https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/1d98206883e0bf5418b17a6bd63a0282c6fb9f3231a92632eafa726f896e91ec/detection
Can anyone confirm this?

I don't know what version you are testing and from which source you got it.
Your Virustotal report contains a strange name for the file tested.
The latest version on Totalcmd.net is 1.03
and there are no viruses detected on this version in the archives for x32 and x64 from Virustotal !
So if files from your system are infected you may have a virus or trojaner on your system.

I get the same result as dmocha when I upload BranchViewEx.wfx to VirusTotal, but not if I upload BranchViewEx_1.03.rar

https://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/virustotalbranchview.png

The first time I tested the filemname was shown as Libra, but now it shows up as BranchViewEx.wfx

VirusTotal does not find any virus in BranchViewEx.wfx64 and wfx_branchviewex_1.03_x64.rar

You misunderstand - If I test the rar file itself at Virustotal - no viruses are found - if I unpack the BranchViewEx.wfx file from that same rar file and test it, the BranchViewEx.wfx tests positive. It is only the 64bit BranchViewEx.wfx64 file from wfx_branchviewex_1.03_x64.rar that does not test positive - and if dmocha is not using 64bit TC then BranchViewEx.wfx64 is not an option.

Does anyone really rely on these results from half a dozen minor anti-virus scanners? I believe it should be known by now that anti-virus software is anything but reliable. It's the nature of such scanners. From the outside it's not possible to tell if anything malicious is in these files. There may be, but I don't think it's likely.

Based on the results I think most of them use the BitDefender engine in some way.

I've found a bug with the %WL variable in the user commands. TC 9.51 generates incorrect list, seems slashes in the file/directory names splits a path into 2 paths, so, for example, instead of 4 paths TC would generate 8 paths. Other commands like cm_CopyFullNamesToClip/cm_CopyNamesToClip does not contain this bug.

if you have such issue this is probably due to a length limitation during generation of %L %WL... Can you try to use %UL which do not suffer from the generation bug and reports your finding !

Another messed up list.
Why don't you want to test it by yourself?

Code: Select all

cmd: ?
params: %UL
While dialog is showing go to "%TEMP%" directory and find the "CMD????.tmp" file with the resulted list.
