uLister: I can't reinstall!

Post by *emmaleixa »

Help!
Due to a wireless board problem I had to reinstall the whole computer. And when I reinstall the TC with the plugins that I use (just three for viewer) I can't reinstall the uLister ...
I do not remember how it is done, and I have already searched all the sites, without finding a solution.
the machine is an XPS w10x64
TC 95.1
uLister 4.0.0.1
The uListes files (and Oracle: redist) have been installed in "Program Files (x86)"
"c: \ Program Files (x86) \ totalcmd \ plugins \ wlx \ ulister \"
inside are the subdirectories "src \", "redist64 \", "redist32 \", "redist \"

But when I press "Ctrl + Q" (view in windows) I get the message: "ERROR - Outside In dlls not found in plugin dir. See readme.txt, install section."

I do not know what else to do...

Can anybody help me?

Thank you!!

Emma

Hi,

Here are detailed instructions in German language.

You can use this link for Google Translate to perform a translation into your language:
https://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=392837#p392837

With this link, a translation from German to English is done via Google Translate.
--> Here you can also select your home language in the right drop-down field! <--

Please check point 10. first, because this is often a point why it does not work.

Does ulister require a redistributable library or similar? I have it working ok in my old laptop but after upgrading to a new one and copying the whole totalcmd folder to it, ulister refuses to work anymore. It doesn't even load.

I have already 'unblocked' the OiT redist dll files in the redist (redist32 and redist64) folders, to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

Sergio

The Oracle Outside In Viewer needs Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime 2013 (version 12.0) to work. Get the 32-bit variant if you use TC/uLister 32-bit or 64-bit in case you use TC/uLister 64-bit.

Thanks @Dalai. Alas, I have it already installed. Both x64 and x86 versions but the plugin refuses to work. Even after removing it and reinstalling again from TC.

Edit: Could get it to work.

It's not easy to understand (at first) that the plugin must be run with both OiT 'vw' (Viewer) redistributable and Visual Studio 2013 v12.xx runtimes.

In my case, after lots of reading of previous posts, I could figure out I had downloaded the wrong OiT package (ca_xxxx.zip, instead of the correct vw_xxxx.zip package).

Now it works again. Thanks for everyone that had previously posted in this thread.

Also, a bit of additional explanation in the plugin's README.txt file would greatly help.

I am now using the modified ulister 4.0.0.1 integrated package (x86+x64) without any more issues.
Regards,
Sergio

Glad you figured it out. I had thought about mentioning that the uLister plugin requires the Oracle Outside In Viewer which itself requires the Visual C++ 2013 runtime (which means that both things must be present for the plugin to work), but I thought that it would be clear (more or less) because the Oracle stuff is mentioned in the plugin's readme and I just wrote about the Oracle stuff needing VC++ runtimes. Well, seems I was wrong.

Anyway, JFTR: uLister plugin requires Oracle Outside In Viewer in the redist subdirectory and Visual C++ 2013 runtime to be installed.

Older versions of what? The OiT DLLs?
I think the license forbids public sharing.

But if you mean the plugin itself:
I did a (unofficial) recompile of uLister some time ago, which uses separate DLL dirs for 32- and 64-bit and therefore is able to work on a dual (32+64-bit) TC installation
http://wincmd.ru/files/9924355/wlx_uLister_4.0.0.1.rar
Just copy the OiT DLLs to the included sub-dir
redist32 for the 32-bit plugin
redist64 for the x64-Plugin

Additionally, if you use OiT DLLs before 8.5.3, my version will also work on Windows 2000, as I compiled with MSVC 2008.
(starting from 8.5.3 the OiT DLLs need the VC 2013 runtimes, and therefore requires XP SP3).

Hello
So it's a very old road here, but the drowning stalks are catching. So maybe someone will answer me here.
On my desktop computer, ulister 4.0 (after copying the Redist folder from Oracle to the ulister folder) works for me, but not on my laptop (= it only shows me spilled tea).

I have heard that you need to have Microsoft Visual C ++ Redistirbutable installed.
I have a desktop comp
Microsoft Visual C ++ 2008 Redistirbutable - x86 9.0.21022
Microsoft Visual C ++ 2010 x86 Redistirbutable - 10.0.40219
Microsoft Visual C ++ 2010 x64 Redistirbutable - 10.0.40219
Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015-2019 x86 Redistirbutable (x64) - 14.27.29016
In NB I have
Microsoft Visual C ++ 2012 Redistirbutable (x64)
Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015-2019 x86 Redistirbutable (x64) - 14.27.29016

I have TC 10.0 on both computers
I have Windows 64 on both computers

It annoys me terribly. Where am I wrong?
thank you for answer

Hi,
you need...

Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013
- vcredist_x64.exe (for "Visual C++ Redistributable Packages für Visual Studio 2013") OR
- vcredist_x86.exe (for "Visual C++ Redistributable Packages für Visual Studio 2013")
Click on "Install Instructions" for download information...
