[WFX] DIskInternals Reader

Post by *bob_tm »

Freeware Disk Reader for Windows. All in One for free!

How to get safe and quick access to alternative file systems? DiskInternals Reader for Total Commander is a new easy way to do this. This program plays the role of a bridge between your Windows and Ext2/Ext3/Ext4, HFS, ReiserFS, exFAT, FAT and NTFS file systems.

DiskInternals Reader for Total Commander is absolutely free. The program provides for read-only access and does not allow you to make records in file system partitions. This guarantees that the interference in an alterative file system will not affect the work of system later.

Native reader for:
- Ext2/3/4
- ReiserFS
- HFS/HFS+
- NTFS
- Fat/exFAT

- Windows and Linux software raid arrays
- Adaptec, nVidia, Intel, Via, Silicon raid arrays

- MBR, GPT, BSD and Apple partitions

- VMWare, VirtualPC, VirtualBox and Parallels disk images

Full links support for NTFS/Ext234/ReiserFS/Hfs
Full Alternative Data Streams support for NTFS.

Download 1.04: http://www.diskinternals.com/download/DiskInternals_reader.zip
Image: http://www.diskinternals.com/images/products/reader-for-tc/tc1.png

note: disk size divided by 1024*1024, because current version of TC can't handle 64-bit size for folders.

enjoy :D

Small suggestion: make download as ZIP with version number in name. Direct linking to DLL files (WFX here) seems a little bit strange.

Thanks for the plugin.

Is it supposed to work with USB drives ?

I have a FAT32 WD MyBook USB 2Tb Drive : the plugin lists it as FAT12, and of course I can't browse it : the file list is empty.

You can download evaluation versions of our products and try them for free

BuildIn Adds Inside TC? Are your sales that bad? :D

And yes please use plugin standards like plugin inside a zipfile with a readme inside that zipfile...

Anyone else get the feeling that this is a beta version that in the future will become shareware?
(Looking at the splash screen stating: "This product is licensed to: ....")?

Apart from that one wish for the Plugin:
Please use the Icon users see when pressing alt+enter for drive list that would be AWSOME :)

When I try to install the plugin I get the following error message:
Error loading plugin file!

The plugin probably needs some DLLs missing from your system.

Are there any dependencies I'm not aware of?

Thanks

Yes it should. It can work with all type of drives and DiskImages. There is only one problem - Windows can't create 2TB FAT32 partition :) We need first 10MB of your harddrive (not partition). Could you create a little disk image and send to us? We can provide ftp for this.

It's just a small respect for big brother :) This plugin 100% based on technologies that tested and work fine in our commercial products. We don't need a lot of time to disable commercial features, so this plugin will be updated, new features will be added and bugs will be fixed. Just report bug and we will fix it ASAP!

It was free (old NTFS4TC), it's free and it will be free. All commercial product updates will affect this plugin too, because they share almost identical code and visual forms. It's just our way to maintain freeware product without spending a lot of time to it.
Apart from that one wish for the Plugin:

Will be fixed in next release.

What version of TC and Windows? Should work on any Windows 2000+

PS:
Also I'm author of Task Manager for TC. But I can't find source code, to update it :(

Ah, ok, sorted it out; apparently Opera was not downloading the file completely. . I'll echo the request of the others here: zip file please :).

In any case, thanks for the plugin, I'm sure it'll come in handy in the future :)
