Services plugin

Post by *KaSA »

Since this moment you can find detailed information and new versions of the services plugin at www.rammus.ru

P.S.
2 Cristian Ghisler: you can put a copy of my plugin on your addons page.

Thanks, great plugin with nice enhancements at each version !

One question remains :

The file app2srv.exe is obviously used to run an application as service.
I currently have it in my plugin folder of my USB-Stick. Do I have to copy it to harddisk or is it used for setup/create the service only ?

It must be accessible at any time when service(app) is started. In addition it must be located in services.wfx directory. Its a bug, but this technology is experemental yet :)

No, I can't see any messages. Just nothing happens when I press Enter or click a mouse. It just can't enter into Services and go back to the list of all other items (file system plugins). When I copy older version of your plugin everything works ok.

Well, I've tried to remove and install again Services via configuration dialog and it was impossible to install new version cause it needed any missing DLL (older version I can install without any problems).
Using fileinfo plugin I've checked it needs missing appHelp.dll but the older version seems to need it, too. So I'm not sure if it's the source of problem.

What should I do with it? It just extracts msxml4.cab file. Where should I put it (or should I extract dll files from the .cab)?
I have already all the .dll files in my System32 folder.

Thanks but... it still doesn't work. Because earlier I only copied the file to the old location I decided to uninstall the old version. Unfortunately after it I couldn't install it again - I get an info: "Error loading plugin file! The plugin probably needs some DLLsmissing on your system."
Still viewing it via fileinfo I miss only appHelp.dll.

Any help, suggestion?

Services 2.4 does not work correctly with latest TC release (v7.01). Using keyboard hot keys, it is no longer possible to start, stop or restart any service.

I have tried contacting the author but my mail bounces. Hopefully this will be noticed here.

No such problem right here (Services 2.4, TC 7.01, Windows XP SP2)

Maybe the hotkeys are "caught" by another application ?
There are several known culprits found at this forum (ATI , Iconoid or even a Logitech keyboard ... )

Thank you. Yes, the hot-keys were being caught by my display driver - not an ATI one, but an Intel one. I had recently updated the drivers and the new ones contained a hot-key tab which I now disabled. It's funny though how only the services plug-in was affected. All other plug-ins and TC itself were working fine. Apologies to all - especially the author whom I wrongly accused.

v. 25b1 or 2.4f. Win 7 x32 Max. I have since some time began to fall TC at the launch this plug-in.
I think something is wrong with the system, because tests on older versions (7.56a/7.57a for example) also crash..
I would like to understand the reason.
