I have now added menus for combined 32bit and 64bit installations of TC 8.51 under 64bit Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 - download links in first post

In TC's Language setup dialog just select for example:

"English with Extended Menu I for TC 8.51 32/64bit under Windows 8.1 64bit"

- then the correct menu will automatically be loaded regardless of whether you are running the 32bit ot the 64bit version of TC.

Are you really posting to the right thread? If so, this is not a plugin, and I am not sure it can ever produce such message

I have no idea how a menu file can give you that error. Does it happen immdiately when you load the language/menu menu file - or does it happen it you click on an item in the menu?

Yes, I am sure this is the right place, Vochomurka.

This are the steps to reproduce:

1) Hit enter on any of these files:
tc851_win7_eng.zip
tc851_win7amd64_eng.zip
tc851_win7x86_amd64_eng.zip
tc851_win7x86_eng.zip
And install it:

2) You will then see the new items in "Configuration" - "Language":
Image: http://oi68.tinypic.com/20582u0.jpg
Select the right one and then Apply.

3) TC immediately returns the error and crashes:

Hmm, I just tested with a freshly downloaded tc851_win7x86_amd64_eng.zip - and I cannot reproduce this.

I noticed on http://oi68.tinypic.com/20582u0.jpg - that the field "Main menu file:" is empty - it should not be so - is it empty no matter which language file you select - for example also "Deutsch (WCMD_DEU.LNG)" ?

Could you check the language directory under TC's main directory to see that you have the following files:

wcmd_win7amd64_1_eng.inc
wcmd_win7amd64_1_eng.ini
wcmd_win7amd64_1_eng.mnu

wcmd_win7amd64_2_eng.inc
wcmd_win7amd64_2_eng.ini
wcmd_win7amd64_2_eng.mnu

wcmd_win7x86_1_eng.inc
wcmd_win7x86_1_eng.ini
wcmd_win7x86_1_eng.mnu

wcmd_win7x86_2_eng.inc
wcmd_win7x86_2_eng.ini
wcmd_win7x86_2_eng.mnu

Could you maybe try with a fresh wincmd.ini file ?

2petermad:
I tried with the smallest possible 'wincmd.ini':

Code: Select all

[Configuration]
UseNewDefFont=1
firstmnu=2810
FirstTime=0
test=8
FirstTimeUnpack=0
LanguageIni=wcmd_win7%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%_1_eng.lng
Mainmenu=wcmd_win7%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%_1_eng.mnu
[FileSystemPlugins64]
$checksum$=3014672
[ListerPlugins64]
$checksum$=3014672
And it works. Obviously something in my 'wincmd.ini' is causing this. Thanks for your help.

Yes - they are more or less made, I am just waiting for the final release of TC9 - in case more new functions turns up.

There will also be a version for Windows 10 x64.

So supported platforms will be:
Win XP 32 bit
Win 7 64bit (both TC 32bit and TC 64bit)
Win 7 32bit (TC 32bit)
Win 8.1 64bit (both TC 32bit and TC 64bit)
Win 8.1 32bit (TC 32bit) (only English, not Danish)
Win 10 64bit (both TC 32bit and TC 64bit)

So in 2 languages with 2 versions for each that is a total of 34 versions.

I am planning to distribute the versions for 64bit OS'es only as combined 32- and 64 bit distributions
