I tried to define custom columns like this:

restarted TC but still no columns are shown

man, this is all so cumbersome. Why not just easy create something and install and it works!!??

That's how the Internet, specifically DNS, works. And when a domain expires, its DNS might get pointed to a different server so that the original contents are still available in case the owner wants the domain back.

This is not a custom columns view but a TC search specification. Try to follow the Manage custom columns view section in the Wiki article.

PS: No idea why this Wiki is in English and German, but it seems like nobody changed that in the past 10 years.

This is not the way to define custom columns - what you show if how to use a wdx plugin for searching.

Try: Menu -> "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Custom columns" -> "New" (button)

The easiest way to use a Custom culumn is to right click on the tab headers, then a list of all your defined Custom columns will be shown.

To define custom colums, you can also:
Press Shift+F1 and choose "Configure custom columns"
or
use the Menu: "Show" -> "Custom Columns Mode" -> "Configure custom columns".

mgroen wrote: 2021-03-22, 10:08 UTC wtf? this page is displayed in 2 languages? All of a sudden English is switched for German? ????
1. Wiki have some pages in more than one language. For example, this very page seems to be translated from German to English. That's why there are missing images in English version.
2. The server may follow your browser settings. If you have German set as most preferred language (at least more preferred than English), the server may switch to German page automatically.

Thanks for the info.
Seems like I have it working now.

This conversation (the last significant bit of it) was just a few months ago. Yet I don't see any mention of any issue with the pdfOCR plugin. Yet, as far as I can search, I cannot find it anywhere on the net. The Totalcmd.net site being down - it seems to have been the only means to obtain a copy of that plugin.

Does anyone know how I could do so?

You should read the plugin description on the download page: http://totalcmd.net/plugring/pdfOCR.html

NeedOCR counts pages which contains pictures only (for example - a cover of a book, scanned pages). That's why it may show 0 when all the PDF pages have mixed content (text+pictures). In your case the page layout is probably saved as a picture, only values which you have pixelated are saved as a text. It's a normal solution when layout designers use commercial fonts which cannot be embedded in documents.

For example: On some invoices I can select barcode as a text (it's displayed/printed with embedded barcode font), while some other invoices have barcode saved as a picture.

Hi Andrzej,
thx for following up so fast 👍
I just checked the document, but I think there IS only an image included.
Can I sent you a pn with the corresponding file, so you may check for yourself?

All the best

Private messages on forum are enabled in my profile, but they might be disabled globally when the board software was updated.
So I enabled emails in my profile now. Try to send messages using both way, please.

I believe they have been disabled for a long time:
ghisler(Author) wrote: 2003-02-11, 23:03 UTC Btw, if anyone knows another nice phpbb modification to add, let me know! I'm still looking for one which allows users to turn off private messaging individually on a user per user base. There exists such a mod (called no_pm.zip), but the site on which it is located no longer exists. :(

That's why private messaging will remain disabled for now...
