It would be still much faster than searching the whole document.
Sounds ok. What I really need is a tool that would rename many files using the title (and maybe author's name) of the document (the real title). Unfortunatelly it appears to be much more difficult than I expected...

Good work, anyway :)

You are not the only one, who could need that ;-)
For such a tool one would had probably to 'create' a layout template for every pdf scientific newspaper ( Phys. Rev. B, Science, ...) that would define, where (approx) the plugin has to serch for Titel, Authors ...

PDF meta data of exported files from OO Writer not readable

Post by *tbeu »

Hi,

I created a test.pdf using the Export as PDF option of Open Office Writer Vs. 1.9.87 from file test.odt, but xPDF plugin does not correctly show the PDF Vs. 1.4 meta data. Any idea why not?

Thanks,
tbeu

Hi,

I downloaded the test file. I could not reproduce the problem. The version is shown correctly as version 1.4.

OK, version data and number of pages are correct, but what about all the other available meta data. Check test.png for reference.

That's a problem in the plugin not in the file. I'll investigate. Thanks for your report. Testing with Foxit Reader is not enough sometimes :roll:

Well you may not change the source code without making the results public :wink:

I have a problem with the tooltips.

wincmd.ini :

[HintsCustomField]
0exts=*.pdf
0fields=[=xpdfsearch.Number of Pages]

But I don't see any number. I only see the "normal" Type - Changed - Size (Typ ... - Erstellt ... - Größe ...).

Where is my fault ?

Thanks for the update:
I have translated it to Dutch ;) Download

One error I see though that the Creation Date and Last Modified Date are not taken from the language file. I can only test Dutch since I have no other languages installed. Can somebody confirm?
