@icfu
Thank you for the kind words.
As for your problem about opening RAR archives that are in use could you provide a bit more information? Are you speaking about a single RAR archive or a multi-volume archive? Also what failure message do you get from my plugin (it should say fhRAR on the title bar)?
@pdavit

@taohe
Thanks to you for your kind words as well.
In regards to your question about extracting only part of a large file contained in a multi-volume set I am afraid that there is no way to do that at this time. Since the source is available for UnRAR I may eventually be able to dispense with having to use the UnRAR.dll file alltogether and then things might be different.
Thank you for the kind words.

I am talking about single RAR archives, haven't tried out multi-volume archive downloads till now.Are you speaking about a single RAR archive or a multi-volume archive?
While downloading a RAR file I doubleclick it and get:
Message box says "fhRAR" in titlebar. When pressing OK in that message box I get:Cannot open X:\bla\blubb.rar!
This box belongs to Total Commander.Fehler in gepackter Datei X:\bla\blubb.rar!
When I deactivate your plugin and restart TC I can open the archive flawlessly, when I reenable your plugin and restart TC I cannot open it anymore. This behaviour is reproducible with different archives.

Make sure to open the file as read only (FILE_READ) and with FILE_SHARE_READ and FILE_SHARE_RIGHT flags, so others are allowed to read and write to the file.

Unfortunately fhRAR doesn't support higher ASCII characters as
I would like it to.
If I have files or folders in the multiple RAR which contain higher
ASCII chars like ÄäÖöÜüß (german) this chars are not displayed
correctly. All files get there correct names after extraction.
Folders too but there is an additional empty folder with the
smashed name for each of those containing these chars in the
name.
Example: (´#^? means replaced chars)
If I use a german unrar.dll it is the same effect.
So I think its an issue of the wcx. Or not?

I get error when trying to associate with .rar :
This is not a valid packer plugin! You can find valid plugins on www.ghisler.com under section "addons".
I cant open any more any .rar files.
EDIT: now it works, nice, thanks!
