I wouldn't say that Microsoft Sans Serif is the worst font ever although I presonally prefer other fonts.

The main problems are somewhere else:

- The font weight
- Using the same fonts on different operating systems which have different defaults for cleartype and not all fonts are optimized for cleartype.
- Using a font which isn't set as standard for the used OS.

Happy Birthday to you :-)

Now back to the font problem - one of the worst things in TC :-(

:) Hello !

• Thank you Christian ! :D
Now back to the font problem - one of the worst things in TC :(
- Yes, I agree… And the topic here is a bit limited, since the font in lists is not the worst issue IMHO, but is in other places…
- Aside, I can't understand why the scripts in the resources are still using MS Sans Serif :
Any minor error in a new version causes that it reappears on the screen, we saw this during the ß-tests…
- But yet, there is a complete (Dina) fixed programming font freely usable (and gratis)…

I use the default font MS Sans Serif, 8 but set to normal, not bold.
It works for me.

Two different settings (but both are mono spaced)

@work: Lucida, Console, 8 (light text on dark background)

@home: Consolas, 10, b (dark text on light background)

Congratulations Clo

My own monospaced Bitmap font. Though its not unicode as such, it has pretty much all the characters I would need for filenames themselves.
BMP printout of it here

Also used for an Editor font, along with a handful of others.
