Hello LionTech,

finally a font lister plugin. Great and Thanks alot !!

I installed it right away, and I have noticed some "junks" (I will not call them "bugs" yet, because for now as it seems this plugin is in very early state of development.)

It works fine on TTF-fonts and it looks quite neat. But I miss scrollbars in the lister window. Only mouse buttons work to scroll up and down and/or at least PageUp/PageDown should work for scrolling.

After viewing some TTF-fonts I wanted to view a text-file, or a ini-file, but this does not work. Still the fontviewer pops up instead plane lister. After switching to "2" or "1" text files are shown again. Switching back to "4" enables again font view.
By the way this effect occurs on all files which are viewed by the native lister (without plugins).

My environment:
TC 5.51 on W2K SP4 (german), I copied msvcr71.dll into my TC-plugin directory.

Suggestions: Before doing further development concerning nwe features, new font files to list, please take care of the user interface first (navigation) and the correct "switching on and off" of Your plugin.

Best regards
Pete

PS: On my wishlist I had a feature to print out this viewed font as seen on screen. Will this be possible in future versions?

PSPS: If You need some more technical details concerning settings of my TC, Windows, etc. feel free to aks.

Pete,

thanks for the feedback.

I have the scrollbars working in 0.03 but I will have to use a different strategy because some of the Unicode ranges are quite large and cause a serious slowdown.

I can't reproduce the 'switch bug' in 0.03. I'll make sure to test that particular case before I release it.

Printing is on the to do list. It all depends on the time I have available.

The user interface is definitely not final yet.

Great plugin! Thanks!
Another two wishes:
1. Include support for .fon fonts
2. Add options to view user-defined string with selected font/size.

Hi gys,
Somehow, this plugin doesn't work anymore!
It installed it a few days ago and it worked fine!
Today I tried it again, and ... nothing ! Thing is, that the Lister comes first. So I see all the scramled output, and no fonts. Any suggestions???
I installed and uninstalled the plugin already a couple of times. Didn't help.

-W2K[sp3]
-German
-TC 5.51
-tried with the standard fonts from c:\winnt\fonts

Thanks for the help.

Hello kuddl,

IMPORTANT! This msvcr71.dll MUST reside either in TC directory or Your system32 directory, or this plugin will deliver scrambled output.

And do not just copy v003 over v002/v001, go to lister settings and uninstall v002/v001 first. Or delete the corresponding line in Your wincmd.ini.
Do a restart of TC!
Then copy font.wlx v003 to Your plugin directory and reinstall it on lister settings panel.

I had some troubles with v003 in the beginning, too. But now it is working perfect.

And do not forget to restart TC once again after installation.

Well and for now, it only works with TTF fonts.

My environment:
W2K SP4 german, TC 5.51, I have not installed MS .NET Framework.

Good luck!

I'm sorry some of you seem to have problems with this plug-in. I guess you all have been spoiled with all these Delphi plug-ins. :P
<Just joking; please don't start a language war!>

As I said in the ReadMe: there's still some error reporting and handling to be implemented to make the plug-in more robust..

As Pete already said: the best place for the DLL is in the System32 directory. That's where all the previous versions live..

Thanks for the helps guys...
Now the plugin is running smooth!
And i love the 003 Version! Nice tabbing!

And for further references:
It was not a misssing msvcr71.dll BUT:
you have to enable "load bitmaps as graphics at startp" !!!!!
I disabled it to get other plugins to work. But the font plugin needs that feature.
It took me a while to find out.

But now i love it!

Keep on developing!
