Drag & Drop IE-URL to TCMD creates strange directories

Post by *schittli »

Good afternoon

Sometimes TCMD creates directories 'self-dependent' if I Drag &
Drop the URL from Internet-Explorer (IE7) to TCMD. I had no problem
to reproduce it until I started Camtasio to create a Video...

Anyway, here is what I'm doing:

1. Drag the URL-Icon (the Icon on the left of the URL) from IE and
2. Drop it into a directory-pane of TCMD.

TCMD creates a Shortcut (.url) to the website and sometimes TCMD
also creates a Directory, usually with just one letter, e.g. 'M', 'T',
which is empty.

I keep trying to make a video.

Kind regards,
Thomas

I cannot reproduce this error here. Can you give me an URL where you get this error?

Are you using Windows XP or Vista?

I sometimes get such strange DIRs after Drag&Drop attachments from M$ Outlook to TC7pb3 (but not with TC5.5).

I could reproduce it now: TC is trying to copy one more file than passed to it via Drag&Drop. I will fix it in the next beta.

Example Video - ... sorry for the delay

Post by *schittli »

Good afternoon

Sorry for the delay, I'm happy that you were able to reporoduce it -
for all the others, I was able to reproduce the problem today and I
created a small video (26kb):

Sometimes, strange files are created, sometimes it's just a
strange directory.

Kind regards,
Thomas

It's been 2 weeks of using RC1, and I haven't noticed strange dirs anymore.
Consider the bug fixed.
