TC and MS Sharepoint

Post by *MF »

How do I get TC to actually open a document stored in MS Sharepoint? It is possible to right click and do checkout, but I would like to double-click and open the document, and then get the Sharepoint qiestion about whether you want to check out (i.e. enable for update) or just look at it in read-only mode. As it is, TC checks it out when you double click, but to edit you need to copy (as far as I am able to see).

1. Format c:
2. Burn the computer which hosts M$ share{bloody}point.
3. Nuke the place so that no remnants survive.
4. Nuke it again (just to be sure).

Sorry couldn't hold myself just hate this piece of crap.

That's OK. But I still have to use it. And what makes it worse is I have to use Windows Explorer, since TC is of no help.

I do recognize the Terrans' approach... :D I can add a bunch of Psionic Storms to make the picture more expressive ;).[/face]

Nothing, and I mean nothing beats a good old nuke, just press the button and all your troubles are gone (US style approach, ugly)... But then nothing's too good for M$.
P.S. No more StarCraft for you, I myself more of an RPG fan (fireball the buggers).

Cheers.

So far the comments weren't very helpful. Any new information in the last two years?

Thanks

bat things are prone to spread thanks to weak minds and as a matter of facts our administration adopted this piece of crap.

As a matter of facts now I am trying to get it to run into TC.

What I discovered is that you can access to sharepoint using webdav, but cannot figure out using which parameters, especially using which parameter WITH the webdav plugin Christian did.

If someone might help is welcome (and please avoid OT replies).

I don't have access to any sharepoint servers, so I cannot say why the WebDAV plugin fails to connect. The logs didn't give me any clue either. A user who reported the problem to me by e-mail got an error
HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request
back, whatever that means...

I use the webdav plugin for sharepoint documents, I can view and copy and delete files from the sharepoint without any problems.

I haven't got much experience copying files to the sharepoint, but a small test gave an error while uploading a document.

Also, in TC you cannot see if a document is checked out by someone.

You can turn on FTP logging in Configuration - Options - FTP to log all WebDAV errors too. You can also enable the option to show an extended log file in the settings of a connection (Alt+Enter). Maybe this gives me a clue why the upload fails. You can try the other upload methods (1, 2 or 3 step).

Deleting and downloading file and creating folders from MS sharepoint is fine with WebDav pluggin but the only problem is uploading. Any progress in this problem?

Alternative Solution
Also I find alternative solution for time being, Use windows explorer go to My network place and create a new network place connection for WebDav (Sorry I cannot post links because of ANNOYTING SPAM FILTER! so Google for Howto connect to Sharepoint Document Library using WebDAV) and and in tc go to Network Neighborhood and click on your created webdav.

WOW! after using alternative solution then I came back to TC WebDav pluging and I suprised uploading to sharepoint worked! I selected Microsoft IIS setting in default configuration settings for Sharepoint connection.

just to confirm that new version of WebDAV pluging work perfectly with MS Sharepoint.

only funny thing is when I upload new version of my document Total commander ask for Overwrite permission, MS sharepoint consider that permission as new version so everytime I upload I get two version of my files in Version history. one less than 1KB the other actualy version.
