Button bar problem in Windows 7
Hello,
I have a strange problem with TC 7.04a in Windows 7. If I install it the button bar misses a few buttons. Screenshot :

The same install in XP is normal. Screenshot :

What could be the problem that TC doesn't display the buttons right ?
John

I assume you use a 16bit library which is no longer supported in Vista and W7. See here: http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=23202

What installer do you use? Our official one from www.ghisler.com (downloads section) does NOT contain a 16-bit icon library. Maybe you installed some package with plugins, which contained an old dll?

Improper Info, re 32 bit.

I have tried it the icons are all 32 bit color but stil Win 7 can't see them. If I modify the Bar and change the icon and select the icl file it has problems.Balderstrom wrote:I recently updated my icon editor from the very buggy SnicoEdit 2.2.3 to IcoFX, it seems very nice.
Also there is IconShop 120a, which has a nice feature of sorting icons of a loaded .exe|.dll|.ico|.icl by "bit"
Then just list the 16 colour options, select all, right-click and "Delete Image", then the 256 colour (I believe those need to go to).
Once you've deleted all the images that are <= 256 colour, Save the file.
If @icon sushi can do all that easily, then never mind... but sounds like there are some lower colour images sticking around.
This is the file I'm using :

It's 16-bit

Hello !:
• Your ICL is NOT 32-bit !
• That isn't the point, you are confusing the colour depth of the icons and the file structure of the ICL !
- You need a 32-bit structure ! No matter which BPP the icons are…
- A few free applications are able to create 32-bit ICL… You might perform a Search here about one, i.e. GFIE

Well, the above was pretty wrong. Though with IconShop 120a I extracted your icons from the file and created a valid 32bit ICL with Greenfish Icon Editor Pro
It has a really strange quirk, within its program file directory is:
.\Config\iclstub.dll
When you create a new Library with Greenfish and want to save it (after adding all your icons), the folder where you want to save the ICL to needs to have a Config\iclstub.dll
So unless you want to create a Config folder in your ICL saveTo directory, and drop the iclstub.dll there. Can just save the ICL to GreenFishes' program folder.
Only Freeware I could find that actually does create a valid 32 bit ICL. Lots of stuff will extract. And a number of the programs have Adobe-like pricing.

Strange because I don't need iclstub.dll here but I am always saving with File -> Save as -> Icon Library. Floppy icon on "library window" does not work for me (maybe this DLL is the reason).
