Viewing CRW (Canon RAW) files with Lister/Irfanview

Post by *Basiltoo »

I want to force Lister to detect CRW files as multimedia files and hence call Iview. CRW files contain an embedded JPG image which can be viewed with Irfanview (which I have set for multimedia files in the Lister options).

I have renamed a CRW as JPG and am immediately able to view the image so I know it can be done!

Are there any configuration settings to achieve this?

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Baz

AFAIK the supported formats (extensions) are still "hardcoded" at TC.

2Christian: Any chance that it can be handled by an INI setting ?

Yes, they are hard-coded, because Irfanview doesn't offer a way to retrieve the supported formats. I will consider an ini file entry to specify additional formats.

Hey. Sorry for bothering.
Today I wanted to use quick preview on olympus images (*.orf), tried to use lister+xnview but failed.
Are there any ways to modify types of "multimedia" files?

Add following line in your WINCMD.INI under [Lister] section:
IViewAdditionalTypes=*.orf
