F1 Help not working

Post by *DrStrange »

With Total Commander RC2 and Windows 7 RTM x64, when I try F1 Index I get this message:
HTML Help not supported! Please download the help file in HLP format from www.ghisler.com.
If I retry, Windows Help and Support pops up stating program was created in Windows Help format and offers to download a program to help view the help file.
I thought TC now uses .chm rather than .hlp? If i directly click totalcmd.chm, it works okay.

Is there also the old hlp file in the directory?
Perhaps deleting it will help.

This is a known error when using x64DisableRedirection=1, because TC cannot load the file hhctrl.ocx which is in the other system32 directory. It's already fixed for the next release (the private beta testers can test it already).

Yes, Thanks for your help. I do have x64DisableRedirection=1. When x64DisableRedirection=0 , F1 key does works as you explained.
Looking forward to the next public release then of TC!

History.txt wrote:28.08.09 Fixed: Open CHM help on 64-bit Windows fails if x64DisableRedirection=1
Vista ultimate x64 SP2.

Bug confirmed using TC7.50RC2 (no CHM help with x64DisableRedirection=1)

And fix confirmed in TC7.50 final.

Thanks! The thread starter has confirmed the fix by e-mail, so I will move this thread to fixed bugs now.
