Some thing wrong with Lister & Quick view

Post by *ay222 »

Some thing wrong with Lister & Quick view (Since the previous version 5.51)

open any file with internal viewer (F3) and try to select any text
if you start selection from the first character in the line everything goes right.
but if you start selection from the second character you will notice that
the selected is right shifted by one character. and if you start selection from
the third character you will notice that the selected is shifted by two
character and so on.
To confirm that create a text file and write the following line:
12345 67890 ABCDE FGHIJ KLMNO
save and open it with lister. Now
if you select "67890" this selection will hide "ABCDE"
if you select "ABCDE" this selection will hide "KLMNO"
if you start selection from the last character "O" to the beginning
of the line, What you are seeing?

in all cases the file seems as if it's changed (I know it doesn't) and you will
be confused about what you are going to copy.
The above is true when the options (Text only) or (HTML text) is checked
AND (ANSI) or (Variable char width) is checked.

Thanks

I just tried this on a text file and everything worked fine here. It selected what I selected no matter where in the line it was. You must have something else going on. I am using TC 6.01 with Win XP Pro, if that makes any difference.

What font are you using?
Of all the planets I've been to, this one is my favorite.

Just an idea

Check your video card drivers. I've seen buggy drivers do such things in programs before.

:) Hi!
I think that Innuendo is right!

 I just tested like you told in Win 98 SE and XP-Pro, the selection works fine in Lister and "Quick View" Ctrl+Q... Tested with:
  • P1 -166 MMX (!) Win 98 SE
    P2 - 350 - Win 98 SE
    2-CPU AMD - Athlon 2000+ MP / M. B. Asus A7M266-D - XP-Pro...
:) ++ Friendly,
Clo
