What plugin are you talking about?
Anyway, both answers are most likely positive. Very few plugins write something to the registry, so you can just copy the plugin itself (and, probably, its settings stored in the ini file) wherever you want.
By the way, why didn't you simply try to copy your data?

Sorry, I don't use th PassStore plugin.
Question "Is software X trusted or not?" sounds as "Do YOU (personally) trust software X?". So, if you've worked with it, you may answer this question positively.

Regarding your personal data, the data is only saved to the xml. No registry involved.

Just copy the xml and the ini file and it will work.

By the way,
I use DropBox to have my xml file synchronized between home and work computers.

Just totally off-topic, are you comfortable storing your encrypted passwords in the cloud? I am always wondering, what if one day someone finds a successful attack for my encryption method - then all my passwords are as good as in plaintext and who has access to them in the cloud depends on the honesty of people, which I would not trust 100%.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

But the file in not in a public folder. But if for some reason someone could get access to it, i guess you are correct. Need to think a little more about this subject.

I use PassStore from day 1. I also helped djorge in testing for bugs and security holes. As far as I know, and I am sure of it, no one of mine passwords or data was compromised ot leaked out. djorge is old member here (since 2003). I think that speaks enough of him :-).
