suggestion, blow up images

Post by *neverthelesshello »

I see the newer Betas of version 8 allow the rotation of jpgs, so why not have a feature one or two other fine managers offer, (i.e. Xyplorer) when you click with left mouse button on an image you get a bigger blow up version and if you right click on it instead it stays bigger until you click it again.

EDIT:
here are some screen shots

hmm I replied but it didnt work, I'll try again.

No not quite :D
you click with left mouse buttn on thumbail of image and get an instant blow up version that shrinks back to normal on leaving go of the mouse.
If you click on the thumbnail with the right mouse btn then the larger image stays there until you click on it again.
I tried taking a screen shot for you but it didnt work.

It may be done via external viewer/lister plugin, I don't see any need to integrate such feature into TC. And, I've never seen any file mananer with such feature.

I think once you have tried it using XYplorer (download the free version) most people would love it. There are no keyboard shortcuts needed or none of the extra steps needed like in TC clicking on the image and then clicking on quick view and then turning quick view back off when you are finished.

go to this page to see screenshots

it certainly would be nice to have, but not necessary either ;)

i'd rather want to have or know how to achieve something like in TC ;)

Show preview for picture at mouseover
Well, when it is possible to show text Popup-informations by hovering over a file, then it is also possible to show a Popup-Picture-preview over image-files. Why is this impossible? It can be made configurable, on which files the popup picture will be invoked and also the size in pixels, or Preview-size configurable in percent.

Windows Shell-extension for the explorer
However, in my mind this technique used to be system wide (like a Explorer-extension) but not a Total commander function. There must be already shell extensions availlable for freeware (via contextmenu or so). Probably it could be realised as a Plugin/Addon for the TC. But I wouldn't install or use this.

Show enlarged Thumbnail-area in the quickview
I was thinking about it in this way: Let's say you have the TC-quickview open and you move the mouse over a big thumbnail. The cursor changes than to a small rectangle. When you move the small rectangle over the Thumbnail, the quickview of that file will start to move and show a enlarged area (that rectangle on the thumbnail) in the preview-window.

Magnifying glass for the Quickview
I don't know if that "magnifying glass for the Quickview" have ever been suggested before, but I think a feature like this can be convenient for a lot of TC-users.
