Drives list - configurable USB disk icon

Post by *fenix_productions »

Can it be switched off via INI?

I am using my custom icons set and I've noticed that since TC8b17 viewing drives list (Alt+F1/F2) became annoying (noticeable delay in which this control is drawn) and this seems like the only code change done.

Currently not, I will consider it.

TC calls this function only for local harddisks. Do you get this delay only when an USB disk is connected, or always?

It is hard to tell but I assume that "always" is the correct answer. I have no USB drives at home but one pendrive always connected in my workplace - both TCs behave the same.

I see - I will cache the value for each drive until a WM_DEVICECHANGE message is received. I do this already for other things like the file system, so it should remove most delays.

Do you refer to the caching of the USB disk type, or to the option to turn it off?
