Behaviour confirmed. - Yet, using Ctrl-Enter or Shift-Ctrl-Enter on the selected filename, depending on whether you need the filename only or the fully qualified filename, does the trick.

I agree that TC should drop full names if it supports drop to command line.

I'm sure no one uses this feature in its current realization, so it is time to do it more useful.
