Planning to buy TC

Post by *varsfx »

Hello,

I've been using TC for quite a while and I really do like it. I have a couple of questions.

1. I can use my licence on any(?) computer, but can I use it on my work computer (just for myself) as well?

2. I was kinda looking forward to buying Filco Mjestouch-2 Ninja TENKEYLESS, would numpad shortcuts be adjusted automatically or I would have to do it manually?
2.1 - Is there an easy way to see Numpad shortcasts and ( if any ) their alternatives?
2.2 - And same thing for changing them.

I tried to change Deselect All shortcut ( Ctrl+NumPad- ) to ( Ctrl+OEM_- ), infact it did work, but dropdown menu was still showing Ctrl+Numpad- and process itself was quite tricky.

If you do buy it, just take note that your only receive your key file in 24-48 hours. They don't tell you this on the site, so just remember this when you buy it.

Post 33917 (titled Price? - Part Two) - says that "you can use it on any number of machines as long as you are the only one using it".

Actually it is mentioned, if you click the order link on the website. Check it out! Link: http://www.ghisler.com/online1.htm
2. Please allow about 2-3 business days until you receive the registration key!
It's just a matter of time. The author sends out keys daily, so it's not a problem, you will key your key anyway. Just be patient, because you will not be scammed. Mr. Ghisler has a great service, and if you don't get the key after 2-3 days contact him, and I'm sure the problem will be solved.

Good luck my friend, on your purchase!

1. You can use your single user license key on all of your computers.

This is taken from the help file
Registered version (personal licence)

The registered version may be installed on as many computers as desired, as long as it is used by only one person at any one time (I.e. one installation at home and one at the office used by the same person). Therefore you need only one licence for a port connection between two computers. The usage by multiple people at the same time (on multiple computers) requires additional licences.

Oh, so that's what they mean when they say "Please Read the following carefully!" Guess I missed that bit, thanks for letting me know. I was just being over-cautious, too many bogus sites on the net - in addition, this oldschool ordering method turned on my paranoia. Thanks for letting me know

Ordering doesn't really worry me that much.

Ok cool, but what about the hotkeys tho ... :/

The keyboard shortcuts can be found in the help file under Operation -> Keyboard layout. There are a lot of them, I barely use 1/3 of them, I know pretty much the basics and for some other tasks that I use.

I've only used keyboard with no numpad keys once in my life, and that keyboard was a Happy Hacking Keyboard. Back in the 90's used mechanical keyboards like the IBM Model M keyboards, and that was built like a tank! Currently I use a 2nd generation Logitech G15 keyboard, because seems very natural for me, and I'm using it for 2 years now.

I think you can remap the entire keyboard shortcuts in Total Commander, just go to Configuration -> Options -> Misc -> Redefine hotkeys and there you can assign for any command a different shortcut if you would like.

Yes, this is allowed! However, you should ask in your company whether they allow it too. Some companies do not allow private software at all, or with restrictions.
