How to sort by extension, maximize tc window by default?

Post by *dehiker »

As explained about wincmd.ini,
sortorder=0 Sort by 0=name, 1=extension, 2=size, 3=date, 4=unsorted
Maximized=1 Full screen
So, to sort my files by extension by default (when starting up the tc), I could add in wincmd.ini
sortorder=1

To maximize tc window by default, I could add in wincmd.ini
Maximized=1

But neither configuration worked as expected for me (Total Commander 7.50a). :(

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Hello dehiker,
Well, TC remembers the sorting order which was active when you closed it.
To save the position, maximize TC and choose Configuration - Save Position.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Thank you so much, Hacker!

Your prompt response do help me a lot!

But it seems TC won't remember sorting style for active tab when closing it. To be an example, if I sort my files by extension in f:\temp, which is now active tab. Then I restart TC, files would be resorted by name again.

Any ideas?

dehiker,
Works fine here. Configuration - Options - Save on exit settings?
