"New" submenu items do NOT have icons

Post by *duyanning »

After I hold down the right mouse button for about 1 second, the context menu appears, but items of the "New" submenu do NOT have icons.
Why?
(7.57a 32bit; win7)
Sorry for my poor English.
Thank you!

Hi, folks,

happens here in Crete as well, using
+ Windows 7 Starter 32-bit and
+ Total Commander 7.57a or
+ Total Commander 8.0ß25 32-bit or
+ Total Commander 8.0rc1 32-bit

Cannot really tell whether the "New" submenu ever displayed any icons in any previous version of T.C., because the oldest version available on this machine is T.C. 7.57a.

Yet, by activating the "New" submenu in Windows Explorer I will see a lot of beautiful application icons next to the object types whichs the "New" submenu offers.

Cheers,
Karl

Just checked version 6.54 - no icons in "New" submenu.

The "New" submenu isn't part of the conext menu returned by the system when calling QueryContextMenu. TC is building that menu by itself. Currently I haven't added any code to get icons for these menu items, sorry.

@ghisler, thank you for the wonderful TC!
Many people on a Chinese TC BBS asked this question, however no one know the reason.
Without icons, it is difficult to locate the item to click.
Is there any other method to create a new file?
SHIFT+F4 can only create file of 0 size.
