Control-U has no effect if same path

In TC7.x, even with the same path, Control-U would switch each view.

Meaning, lets say i have c:/test/ path on left and right.

But left is sorted by name, and right by extension.

Control-U would swap both views.

On 8.0, it does not. (64bit/windows7)

Not confirmed. TC 8.0 (32 and 64 Bit) behaves exactly the same as TC 7.56a. The sorting stays on the left or right side and is not "transferred" to the other side (this is intentional I think).

Sorry, I gave a bad example.

Under 7.x, If you are at half the files on left part, and at top on right part, and press crontrol u, it swaps and you are now half on the right, and top on the left.

Sorry, I still can't reproduce the "old" behavior. I don't see any change between TC 7.04, TC 7.56a and TC 8. When I swap panels, cursor always resets itself to the first item in a panel.
